This place is CLOSED, and good riddance to the owners!! My last review was from Sep 2010; unfortunately everything went downhill once the original owner sold to a young, inexperienced couple that ran this place into the ground. I submitted a request to Yelp just now to indicate the closure of this restaurant. The original owner is back and the new banner is now "DUO POT" - please read reviews under that name. Thanks!

Horrible experience! Stay away. Go to Hot Pot Hot Pot on Atlantic Ave. instead. I had gone to Hot Pot Hot Pot and I figured since I love this style of eating so much I should try other places. Red Door Hot Pot made me very sorry. Nothing went right. I feel terrible now, 24 hours later. First the girl thought I was just there to use the bathroom. I said where can I wash my hand? She said NO! I worked very hard trying to explain that I was a customer, here to eat lunch. The place was deserted and I was the only one there for the duration of the miserable experience. I ordered the half and half broth. Neither broth had anything in it. The regular was bland. The hot was not that hot at all and there was nothing in it. It is just powder, surely what you can buy yourself in packs from 99 Ranch or any other good Asian market. Hot Pot Hot Pot on Atlantic on the other hand has a ton of awesome herbs and spices in theirs and the difference is night and day. 20 minutes after I give the girl my selections, she comes back and tells me they have no rice!!! What kind of a Chinese restaurant runs out of rice??? Then she brought out my selections. I ordered shrimp balls which are pink. She brought out while balls which are fish. I told her that is wrong and she kept insisting that they are shrimp balls, as if I am stupid since I am not Asian and I am incapable of knowing the difference. I ordered beef tendon, she brought out some type of meat that was anything but beef tendon. And of course she kept saying that is beef tendon!! The beef slice portion was small and did not taste fresh. as all other stuff I ordered from mushrooms to fish. Now, here is the worst part: I thought I was ordering the $19.99 all you can eat. When she brought me the $45 check, she explains to me that the way I ordered I did not order the all you can eat and the all you can eat is smaller plates and portions and I must pay the bill as is! This despite the fact that I told her I want the all you can eat in the beginning. I felt ripped off in multiple ways. Possibly the worst restaurant experience in years. If you are smart you will stay away. Want an excellent Hot Pot Experience? Go to Hot Pot Hot Pot on Atlantic Ave. Now I know how professional, clean and wonderful that place is. I am going back and sticking to that place.

If it was possible to give this restaurant 0 stars, I'd do so in a heartbeat. This use to be the to-go hot pot place for my friends and I, then it all went to hell when we visited it on 11th Feb 2012.Service....no service at all, a single person was serving, busting, plating, and cleaning at the same time while his other partner was eating with a bunch of friends. It took him about 5mins to seat us down and 5 more mins to ask us what we want. He told us about the all you can eat and we thought it would be great. Turns out all you can eat means 10 small plates of vegetable and one plate of beef on a service trolley. It then took this single server 10 more mins to come back with more of the same old vegetables and tofu. We did ask for meat, as there were five of us, we asked for 5 plates of beef or lamb and the server came back with one plate of lamb...As to the quality of food served today compared to a year ago, it looked old and the lamb tasted old and had a rotten sour taste to it. The soup base was nothing like before, the spicy soup base tasted bland, boring, and not even spicy at all. Furthermore, neither were the spicy or the herb soup base seasoned at all. They were not spicy, salty, or herby; just simply tasted like water and salt. All you can eat just meant a server shoving tiny portions of food you didn't order to you, and telling you sorry thats all they have. Please don't go to this hot pot place, I'm pretty sure some of us will be food poisoned and crap our pants after that sour lamb....

All you can eat was horrible. All the meats and vegetables they brought out looked off colored and rotten. Told them to bring another plate with fresher vegetables and they took one away and brought the same exact one out to us thinking that we were stupid enough to fall for that. I'd rather go to Happy sheep in San Gabriel for fresher ingredients. They brought out a tray of items that we didnt order and tried to force us to eat it by placing it on the table. I would put it back on the tray as a hint that I didnt want it. It looked old, so i think they wanted us to eat it so they wouldn't have to throw it away. They would try several more times by placing back on our table. I guess they didnt get the hint, even after I said "no I don't want it." They ran out of certain items as well.Absolutely just poor quality meat and veggies for $25 all you can eat.The herbal soup also was just plain white soup base with no herbs. the spicy side had certain herbs in it.I am definitely never going back.
